WHAT TO EXPECT

If you imagine a close family living life together, you will begin to understand what it is like to be with us. We are seeking to live the way the early believers lived in Acts 2:42, where they were continually devoted to teaching, fellowship, sharing meals, and prayer (Acts 2:42; Acts 2:46–47). Today, that life is expressed in very practical ways. We currently gather in three house churches on Sundays and meet in four Bible studies during the week throughout Gwinnett County, in the northeast suburbs of Atlanta. Beyond that, in countless homes, we share meals and fellowship throughout the week. God designed His church this way because we do not only need spiritual nourishment—we also need real relationship with one another, after Him, so that life can grow (Acts 4:32–35; Hebrews 10:24–25).

TEACHING

Teaching is one of the ways we are continually nourished by God’s truth. When we gather, we open the Scriptures so that we can better understand who God is, who we are in relationship to Him, and how His life is meant to be expressed through us. This is not about collecting information, but about being shaped by truth from the inside out. The goal is not merely to learn more, but to walk with God more faithfully as His Word becomes clearer in our lives ( Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Colossians 1:28–29).

FELLOWSHIP

Fellowship is much more than conversation before or after a gathering. It is shared life. We are involved in one another’s lives in real and meaningful ways, encouraging one another, carrying burdens, speaking truth in love, and learning to place others’ needs above our own (Acts 2:44–45; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:15–16). This shared life extends well beyond our gatherings. Many get together for game nights, movie nights, pickleball, vacations, or just nights out together. Holidays, birthday parties, and other special occasions are also often celebrated together. These things are not meticulously scheduled programs, but the spontaneous outflow of genuine love and commitment to one another. Fellowship is not something we manufacture—it is the natural expression of a people who truly belong to each other (Romans 12:10; 1 John 3:16–18).

SHARING MEALS

Sharing meals is one of the simple but important ways we live as family. Around a table, barriers come down, conversations deepen, and relationships are strengthened. This is not a ritual for us, but a regular and joyful part of life together. God did not design His people to only hear truth together, but also to dwell together, and meals are one of the clearest expressions of that shared life (Acts 2:46; Acts 20:7; Luke 24:30–31).

PRAYER

Prayer is our shared expression of dependence on God. We pray because we know that apart from Him, we have nothing. Together we seek His will, bring our needs before Him, and grow in our trust of Him. Prayer is not a formal religious exercise, but real communication with the God who has reconciled us to Himself. It is woven into our life together because relationship with Him is the source of everything (Acts 1:14; Acts 4:31; Philippians 4:6–7; Colossians 4:2).
